Mission Statement
The Colorado Psychiatric Society is an association of physicians whose mission is to promote excellence in psychiatric care through advocacy, education and research.  

About CPS
A district branch of the American Psychiatric Association, the Colorado Psychiatric Society has membership of approximately 520 psychiatrists who practice throughout the state of Colorado. Our members are all physicians who have completed medical school and a psychiatric residency program. Some have received additional training in areas such as child psychiatry, geriatrics, forensics, and addictions.

CPS takes part in many activities such as: legislative and lobbying efforts; advocacy for the welfare of patients in the public and private sectors; educational meetings for our members; public information projects directed toward students, the media and the general public; investigation into ethics complaints from the public; informing members of current issues through our newsletter and other mailings; responding to needs in our community including disaster preparedness; participating in coalitions with other mental health organizations and consumer groups; providing leadership in areas of concern to our members such as managed care and scope of practice issues.

We can provide expert consultation or speakers on psychiatric conditions and treatment options. Our members are trained to treat patients with both therapy and pharmacological interventions.
